Praise for Virtue Health Services

Virtue Health Services recently received praise from the Care Quality Commission and local social workers for our attitude towards care and supported living services.

This comes ahead of our official opening to the first Phase of homes in the first Community Pathway.

A shortage of care in the area
Ahead of the opening of Ashdale House – Virtue’s first Community Pathway – the CQC (Care Quality Commission) visited the service to register it as an official supported living home, suitable for service. However, praise was given stating: “The service was passed without any question – the quality was outstanding, the interior feels much like your own home and there is no doubt the care provided will be excellent.

There is a real shortage of such quality, independent supported living services in the area, especially for learning disabilities – Ashdale House will make a wonderful home for two individuals in who require care and support.”

Following the registration of the service, local social workers visited Ashdale House, with the hope to refer individuals who could really benefit from the support provided with Virtue.

Karen Stanley, Head of Commissioning and Development at Virtue, said: “It was one thing to have such great feedback from the CQC at this stage – but the social workers who visited us soon afterwards, commented they haven’t seen a service quite like ours for some time even though there is a real demand for it.”

Further development
Having already noted there is a lack of supported living services in the North, Virtue Health Services have already begun developing the second Pathway in the first Community Phase

Oakdale House is currently under construction – just a short walk around the corner from Ashdale House. The second pathway will become the main Hub for the Community Phase, as it boasts more space in the home and in the garden.

As development is progressing, details of a hard-hat event will soon be released, for commissioners and healthcare professionals to take a look around and help us to shape the service.

At Virtue Health Services we equip individuals with the confidence and skills to develop an identity within their community, make their own decisions and live the best version of their life. With a focus on rehabilitation into a more independent life, we still provide the much required care and support. So, even if individuals cannot live without some form of care and support, they are still more independent than they perhaps thought achievable.

Our dedicated team works with individuals and families to develop goals and support them to maintain and develop their skills, transitioning along a pathway towards independence. Make a referral today.
